TODAY IN HIS WORD COMES FROM
(Isa 64:8 NASB)
But now, O Lord, You are our Father,
We are the clay, and You our potter;
And all of us are the work of Your hand.
THOUGHT TO PONDER:
When God first brought the world into existence, He did so with His voice. God spoke and it was. And by doing so, He showed His awesome power. At the sound of His voice, it would be, and at His command-- things happened. But when it came to you and me, He used His hands.
TODAY’S INSIGHT INTO HIS WORD:
When it came time for creating man, God used BOTH hands to knit us together, and by doing so, He showed how much He desired to be present and active in our lives. He could have just spoken-- look at the absolute beauty of nature. Take a look at the breathtaking sky, that He spoke into being. But with us, He rolled up His sleeves and used His hands to create us.
For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
My friend, knitting takes both hands. That means, God took His time with us. And then to make it more personal, He breathed life into us. "Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being"(Gen 2:7 NASB). It does not matter the circumstances of your birth. You are here because it pleased God to have you here.
It was not His desire to create the world to be empty. He wanted us, my friend, HE WANTED YOU. For this is what the LORD says— he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited— he says: “I am the LORD, and there is no other" (Isa. 45:18).
Not only was your birth NOT an accident-- but the time of your birth, and the very place of your birth, were all seen and designed by God. My friend, you live where you do, because it is all part of God's plan. It doesn't matter that you may have moved for a job, you are where you are because it is where God needs you to be. There is a plan and a purpose for you, and God will plant you, and move you, and get you where you need to be in order for His bigger picture to come forth. God will "send you" to His people who need you, and He will bring along the people who YOU need in order to fulfill His purposes in your life. I would like to share one of my favorite verses with you: The Lord says, "People of Israel, you are my servants. Family of Jacob, I have chosen you. You are the children of my friend Abraham. I gathered you from one end of the earth to the other. From the farthest places on earth I brought you together. I said, 'You are my servants.' I have chosen you. I have not turned my back on you. So do not be afraid. I am with you. Do not be terrified. I am your God. I will make you strong and help you. My powerful right hand will take good care of you. I always do what is right" (Isa. 41:8-10 NIRV).
My friend, from cover to cover, the Bible show us that He brought His people together at the time that they are needed. And the awesome thing is, each time He does, it is for something even bigger. One of the lessons I love is that God could have given Abraham and Sarah their son Isaac earlier in life. But He didn't, and I think it was for two reasons. (1) He waited until it was physically impossible from a human's perspective, and could ONLY have been by an act of God. But also, (2) because in God's infinite wisdom, He knew when a pretty young girl named Rebekah would be going to the well to get water. God already had Isaac's wife chosen for him, and God knew at what time Isaac would need to be born and every step in between needed, to bring these two people together (Read Gen. 24).
One more example I would give you is Esther. Long before she born, God knew exactly at what point in time to bring her so that she would be in the right place when it was time to replace Queen Vashti. And why did God do this? Why did He allow one wife to be replaced by another? Because there was a nation to save. His people would need Esther to be in place in order to have the relationship she had with her husband, for when it came time to save them. Right down to the way Ester looked, God knew what it would take to catch the eye (and the heart) of a king, so that His people-- the nation God had promised Abraham-- would not perish. NOTE: Could it be too, that Vashti was NEVER God's intended for this man; so when right time came she was removed from a position she was never suppose to have. (Scripture says that whatever is NOT of God will be removed when things are sifted, and the fires have burned out all that was not really alive.) And Esther-- just like David, who was the anointed and chosen one by God-- was brought into the place she (they) where ordained to have, and no one can disrupt the plan of God from being fulfilled.
My friend, know that you and I are God's people, loved by Him, and created by His own hand. You are chosen, accepted, forgiven, redeemed and restored all by the blood of Jesus; because He wanted you, and He has a plan, a purpose and a mission for you. Take comfort and find strength in the fact that what is in His hands, no one can remove.
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;
and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them
out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all;
and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
PRAYING IN FAITH:
Father God, we praise You for Your insight and wisdom. Lord we thank You for the love that You constantly show us. Father, thank You that You so lovingly created and formed us. Thank You that You knitted us together by Your hand, and that we are in Your hands. Lord, thank You that our names are engraved into the very palms of Your hand, and that what is in Your hands, no one can take out or remove. Father, I pray for this reader today. Lord, I pray that they will come to see how they were wonderfully made by You and for Your desire. Lord, I ask that You pour out Your Holy Spirit on them and that they would feel Your presence with them today like never before.
In Christ Jesus' Amen.
