TODAY IN HIS WORD COMES FROM:
(Ps 105:17-20 NKJV)
He sent a man before them -- Joseph-- who was sold as a slave.
They hurt his feet with fetters, he was laid in irons.
Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him.
The king sent and released him, The ruler of the people let him go free.
THOUGHT TO PONDER:
God will give us His Word, and then like a fire refining metal, His Word will be tested and strengthened in us, until HE Himself proves His Word true.
TODAY’S INSIGHT INTO HIS WORD:
From the time Joseph told his family about the dream that God had given him, until years later when the vision finally came true; God's Word was tested in him and refined in his spirit. My friend, Joseph was thrown down a well, sold into slavery, thrown into prison, chained to a table and tortured... but in the end, every word God shared with him was proven true, and Joseph was exalted and honored. Joseph hit rock bottom, but through the refining fires of his downfall; he was lifted up by God. How did he manage? How did his belief not crumble? Because something stronger was holding him up-- the very word of God.
My friend, know that when God gives you His Word on something, it will be tested. It will be tested in you, and do you know what else? Your faith will be tested infront of others. My friend, never lay down on what God has told you. Fall to your knees and cry out if need be, but hold to God's Word that He puts inside of you.
So often after God gives us His Word, we will go through trials and storms. We will be stripped of everything until all we have left is His Word. Why does God allow this? So that we will come to the end of ourselves. And when we are raised up, it is in the fullness of His Holy Spirit for everyone around us to see. It's almost as if while we are going through these refining fires and turbulent storms you can hear God asking, "But will you believe ME? Will you hold to my word and what I have told you despite what you see?"
In Mark 6 we read: Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd (vs 45 ESV). Jesus told His disciples to go across to the other side, and then He sent them off! He knew there would be a storm hitting the lake that night. Don't think for a second, that the storm took Him by surprise. But, Jesus sent them off never the less. He allowed them to get in that boat and go... Why? Why did He do that?
Because He had given them His Word-- He told them to go across to the other side. That meant, regardless of how bad it may seem, THEY WOULD MAKE IT THROUGH. They just needed to hold to what HE said and believe. Jesus would not have told them to go, if they were only going to drown halfway across.
My friend, know that most often before God launches you out, before He lifts you up, before He establishes you infront of others, you will be tested and refined. You may be "knocked low" and travel through valleys; but know that there is good reason for this. God allows it, because ultimately it will strengthen you. It will strengthen your faith in Him and will purge all "self" out so that you cannot boast that somehow it was by your might. He will bring you to the end of yourself and then HE will be the one to raise you up. My friend if you allow for God to be your exalter-- you will not have to point out victory to others, you will not have to say, "I told you so." His hand will do it for you. Keep in mind that an arrow fitted to a bow, is drawn back before it is let go to soar out at its target. You and I are the same way in the Hand of God.
My friend as you go out today, hold to His Word that HE has for you. Keep it, stand on it, and go all the way to the finish with it, until God has tested you in it and then proves you for it. Let others see you hold His Word as your bedrock. Don't fight against the tests meant to refine you. Go through them knowing that the hand of Jesus holds you steady, and then let God Himself give you honor and raise you up. And then, shine and give HIM GLORY.
PRAYING IN FAITH:
Father God, we praise You today. Lord, even during trying times, we can stand in the truth that You are a good God. We praise You for Your faithfulness. Lord, thank You for Your mighty Word that You entrust us with. Thank You, that if we will stand the testing of our faith, Your Word will prove true.
Lord, I lift this reader up to You. Lord, I close my eyes and place my hand in theirs and stand united with them. Lord, may You strengthen them and raise them up for others to see YOUR GLORY through them.
Heavenly Father, I pray for this reader, that whatever trials and storms they may be going through; that they will see a glimpse of the other side and what awaits for them. Lord, I pray that they will stand in belief and faith, knowing that Your Word is true.
In Christ Jesus Name,
~ My friend, have a wonderful day today,
