TODAY IN HIS WORD COMES FROM
1 Cor 4:5 (NASB)
Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time,
but wait until the LORD comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men's hearts.
THOUGHT TO PONDER:
My friend, have you ever jumped the gun and judged something that someone in authority above you has done-- only later to have to "eat crow" because you were wrong?
INSIGHT INTO HIS WORD:
Sometimes when the Lord puts someone in front of us, we need to take a step back and give them space (and time) to listen to the Holy Spirit, so that God can lead them as that person leads us. If we are not careful, it is easy to jump in and try and take it out of their hands and do it our way. When God puts someone in front of us, it is important that we trust in that person. Which ultimately shows trust in God. The LORD knows what He is doing-- so if GOD has put that person in front of us-- it is for a reason. Before jumping to an opinion and trying to take matters into your own hand-- take a step back and wait for the Lord to lead you in how to follow the one in front of you.
It could be that the person in front of you isn't doing things exactly the way YOU would. But, my friend, maybe it is because that is the way GOD is leading HIS chosen one, and you need to wait until God's direction is clear (to both of you). Also, in waiting, God gives you the chance to learn how and what your role is in helping His chosen one.
Two people are better than one,
because they get more done by working together.
(Ecc. 4:9 NCV)
Today when going out, allow God to work in you to be an asset to His plan, not a hindrance. Who knows, God may very well be using this opportunity to teach you and prepare you (like Joshua), to step up into the leadership role when it is God's timing to have the one in front step down or to move on to something new....
"So why do you judge your brothers or sisters in Christ?
And why do you think you are better than they are?"
(Rom. 14:10 NCV)
My friend, have you ever judged something your friend was doing-- only to find out later you judged them before you saw the whole picture? Sometimes it is so easy for us to do that; someone we know who is serving Christ, but in a way we can't understand... When this happens, before making a judgment call, ask God to open your eyes to what you can't see, or to give you understanding. It could very well be that they are right in the center of God's will; it's just that you can't "see what they have heard God say inside of them." Remember it isn't our place to "judge another person's servant." Only the master can decide if that servant's work is pleasing to them.
We can't always know the "blueprints" that have been given to the servant, so sometimes what they are doing is going to look like nothing but a mess to us until it is finished. This use to happen to me when I was making gift baskets. If you came into my work area while I was gathering up supplies or was just creating the base-- all you would see was a huge mess! And unless you had been there during the discussion with the customer about the order; what I was doing probably wasn't going to make much sense. But you see, I could see it in my mind finished, so there for everything thing I was doing had a reason, but until it started taking shape, you would be left scratching your head.
AND THE FLIP SIDE:
Or maybe you are the one doing something YOU KNOW God has led you to, but no-one seems to understand and it is like everyone is treating you as if you've lost your mind... My friend, I have GOOD news for you: So did Noah! So you're in good company.
My friend, if you are truly in the will of God, and doing what He has asked you to do-- then know you do not (and will not) have to vindicate yourself. Just keep doing what you know to do, and at the right time-- GOD will show to everyone what you already knew. Keep in mind:
"It was by faith that Noah heard God's warnings about things
he could not yet see. He obeyed God and built a large boat
to save his family. By his faith, Noah showed that the world was wrong,
and he became one of those who are made right with God through faith."
(Heb. 11:7 NCV)
PRAYING IN FAITH:
Father God, thank You that You speak to us, giving us vision and direction. Lord, thank you that You guide and lead us, even when others don't understand. Lord, help us to have patience with those You place over us. Lord, help us to help them and not be a hindrance. Lord, help us to do our part as YOU have intended. Lord, please open our eyes where our sight may have become dull, and help us to 'see' what You are showing us. Lord, as You give us direction and instruction, help us to be obedient to You and not distracted by others. Lord, help us to do as YOU have said, and help us to obey You in even the smallest details. Lord, help us to stand in faith, and to stay the course and the mission You have set for us. Lord, I lift this reader up to You today. Lord, I pray You will open their ears to hear You with clarity. Lord, I ask You to help them to discern YOUR voice above all the noise. Lord, I ask You to help them to tune into YOU. Lord, I pray You will enlighten them, and give them visions of YOUR will, and the mission YOU have set for them. Lord, help them to know YOUR calling on their life, and I pray that nothing will turn them away from following fast after You. Lord, I pray they will submit to the call You have on them. Lord, I pray they will have the courage to simply say, 'Yes Lord, here I am.' Lord, I pray You will prune them of anything or anyone who may be pulling at them to go the wrong way. Lord, I pray they will bear fruit for You that will help Your kingdom to grow and for others to know You.
In Jesus' Name,
~ My friend, have a wonderful and blessed day, knowing the Lord is walking with you, and has already gone ahead of you to prepare the way.
