Drawing closer as we learn the Ways of God
Today In His Word Comes From:
Isaiah 40:12-14 (NASB)
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand,
and marked off the heavens by the span, and calculated the dust of the earth by
the measure, And weighed the mountains in a balance And the hills in a pair of scales?
Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord, or as His counselor has informed Him?
With whom did He consult and who gave Him understanding?
And who taught Him in the path of justice and taught Him knowledge
and informed Him of the way of understanding?
Hi, I am so glad to have you visited today!
This week we are focusing on looking at the different attributes and names of God. I pray that you will be blessed as we look into God's Word, and and allow Him to declare to us in His own way, "I am who I am!"
On a side note: "YES,” this week's devotionals are a little bit different than our regular daily devotionals… but I hope you will stick with us and keep today’s thoughts with you, as you spend your quiet time with God. I am challenging you to take some time (as you can); to look up and read at least a few of the suggested key Scriptures for each attribute of God listed below. Allow God to grow you like never before in His word-- and in who He is! I encourage you to get a notebook and start your OWN PERSONAL concordance!
INSIGHT INTO HIS WORD:
I was reading in Exodus 33 and 34 this weekend, and it really struck me how God told Moses that He would allow Moses to see His Glory. The tenderness and love of the Father just seemed so much stronger as I read:"I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion" (Ex 33:19 NKJV). Something about God promising to cover Moses with His hand, so that He would not be hurt by the mightiness of God's power, was so touching. Imagine the same hand that can display so much strength, would be the same hand to tenderly cover and protect Moses as God gave Moses the very thing He asked for!
Something else that is very impactful about this is, God Himself stating that HE will proclaim His Name-- again leaving NO DOUBT who Moses was taking to and about to experience! That is what I pray for-- a mighty God experience-- that God will make His presence known to us as we seek to know Him. I take a position to see Him, because He is rewarded for those who truly seek to know Him and His will.
>> Listed below are a few more attributes of God as we wrap this section of looking at the ways of God, I hope you spend some quiet time and look up (in the Bible version of your choice) to write down in your journal.
Have a blessed and wonderful journey!
>>> God is immutable: meaning that God is unchanging. He is the same God as before. He is dependable because He doesn’t change His mind. When He says “YES” He means yes. And when He says “NO” He means no. He is not swayed by different moods… He is rock solid, and He is stable.

>>> God is omnipresent: God is always present and He is always with us. Just as God is not restrained to time--- He is not confined to one space. God can be with all of us personally at the same time. It doesn’t matter if we feel like we can feel His presence or not-- He is there. There is no place we can hide from God, and no pit (or cavern) so deep that He cannot reach us.

>>> God is omnipotent: there is nothing too difficult for God, He is a-powerful. No matter what the situation looks like, God can do a mighty work when He is ready too. There is no river to wide or too deep that He cannot get us across. There is no obstacle that He cannot overcome, and NO BARRIER that He cannot get through. Whatever it is we are going through-- God is more powerful than anything we may be facing.

>>> God is faithful: God’s Word is true, He will not lie! His Word will be performed no matter what. He WILL do what He says He will do, even if it seems like it is taking a lot longer than we had thought it would. We CAN TRUST GOD.

Hi there! SO, how many verses were you able to look up and read? How did God declare Himself to you? How do you have a new outlook on Him?
I would so love to hear!
Take care and have a blessed day!
