TODAY IN HIS WORD COMES FROM
(Luke 15: 21-24 NKJV)
"And he arose and came to his father.
But when he was still a great way off,
his father saw him and had compassion,
and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.
And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven
and in your sight, and am no longer worthy
to be called your son.’ “But the father said to his servants,
‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him,
and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.
And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry;
for this my son was dead and is alive again;
he was lost and is found.’And they began to be merry."
THOUGHT TO PONDER:
Everyone's breaking point is different, what would get one person to his knees, may not be the same for someone else. Each person when faced with, "Have you had enough?" has to decide how much more do they want to try to fight and go forward by themselves and in their own strength.
TODAY’S INSIGHT INTO HIS WORD:
There are many lessons to be taken for the story of the Prodigal Son. But the one I would like to point out today is this; every person has a different level of pain tolerance. And depending on one's stubbornness and hardheaded-ness, that tolerance may be pushed out even further. What would break one person emotionally may have no impact on another. But at every single weight-bearing moment, the Lord stands before us with His hand-held out, and with an invitation saying, "It doesn't have to be like this, all you have to do is come back."
My Friend, life is tough, and we as humans tend to make it even harder on ourselves. But know that every time we fall down, every time we sink down in despair.... God stands so close and whisper's, "Have you had enough?" My friend, if we would just dare to believe and say "YES," then we find that the Lord is kneeling with us, with His arms around us whispering, "Then come back to me."
God is not blind-- we cannot pull the wool over His eyes. He knows what we have done, He knows where we have been. He knows what we hide in ourselves... but He loves us regardless. And when we come before Him with a sincere heart, with true remorse He says:
I have seen his ways, and will heal him; I will also lead him,
And restore comforts to him, And to his mourners.
(Isa. 57:18 NKJV)
However, you cannot mock God. If your "repentance" isn't real-- if your shame and regret is only surface level and doesn't come from the heart-- He knows, and He will wait until it is. "Yet in spite of all this her treacherous sister Judah did not return to Me with all her heart, but rather in deception,” declares the LORD (Jer. 3:10).
Are you a "prodigal son" in the making? My friend, know that all is not lost. There is no pit to deep that God cannot reach. If you are standing on the edge of one cliff and you feel like surely God is on the other side with a valley between-- know that His arm is not to short to reach across. He just waits for you to decide. My friend, have YOU had enough? Are your shoulders bent over from carrying a load you were never meant to bare? Is your heart weighed down because you are not where you are supposed to be? If this is you, my friend, listen closely. Close your eyes and listen to God's Holy Spirit whispering, "Return to me," and let the Lord lift you up and put your feet on steady ground, and Hear Him too rejoice because you have returned home.
Listen as the Mighty one who saves you says:
"Remember these, O Jacob,
And Israel, for you are My servant;
I have formed you, you are My servant;
O Israel, you will not be forgotten by Me!
I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions,
And like a cloud, your sins.
Return to Me, for I have redeemed you."
Sing, O heavens, for the LORD has done it!
Shout, you lower parts of the earth;
Break forth into singing, you mountains,
O forest, and every tree in it!
For the LORD has redeemed Jacob,
And glorified Himself in Israel."
(Isa. 44:21-23 NKJV)
PRAYING IN FAITH:
Father God, thank You for Your mercies that are made new every morning. Lord, thank You for Your forgiveness. Lord, thank You, that You do take us back when our hearts desires are to return to you. Thank You that we feel Your love poured out over us in Your grace that You give us. Father God, we praise You for the mighty power of Your Hand that saves us.
Father, I lift this dear reader that is with me today, up to you. Lord, where ever they may find themselves today, may they hear Your voice calling their name. Lord, I pray that they will feel Your presence with them. Lord, I pray that You will bless them and comfort them.
In Christ Jesus Name,
~ My friend, have a wonderful and glorious day.
