Christ-Like Friendship and Support

Holding hands in fellowship with Christ-like friendship as we learn how to connect the truth of God's Word with everyday life, while walking through the pages of His Word.
Today's Daily Devotional
Let God's Word shine light on your step today
as you grow in your relationship with Christ.
This is what the Scripture says: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.”
(Heb. 3:15)
Devotional: The Name of the Lord (part 2)
Sept. 18th

TODAY IN HIS WORD COMES FROM
(Psalms 20:5-9 ESV)

May we shout for joy over your salvation, and in the name of our God set up our banners!
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions! Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed;
he will answer him from his holy heaven with the saving might of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright.
O Lord, save the king! May he answer us when we call.

THOUGHT TO PONDER:
God loves you, God cares for you, and God has said you are his people. God is willing, God is able, and God is waiting. Whoever you need God to be for you, GOD IS.

TODAY’S INSIGHT INTO HIS WORD:
Listed below are few more names that God reveals as being His as we wrap up this weeks look at who God is.  I very much encourage you to look the verses up in your own Bible and listen with your heart. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your mind and your heart and help you to hear God’s voice as He speaks to you from His own words.

Why is it so important to write it down and share it? Because when we don’t, we tend to forget, and then our children don’t learn and won’t be able to pass it down to their children. In Joshua 24:3, it talks about the fact that the Israelites served God as long as the elders who had witnessed God’s hand, in their lives, were living. But as these leaders died, the lessons became fuzzy until they weren’t spoken about anymore or even taught. Everyday life and other peoples’ beliefs started dominating them, until God’s beloved children had forgotten and turned away from Him.  In fact, we are commanded to write it down!

“Write these things for the future so that people
who are not yet born will praise the LORD.”
(Ps. 102:18)

I pray that as you begin to read how God expresses Himself, and makes Himself known to you, that it will strengthen your relationship with Him, and help you to grow as you learn to walk with Him.
Today I would like to share with you a list of names to hold to. Listen in your heart as the Lord whispers to you, "All that you need... I AM."

God is: my Teacher (Hosea 12:10)
I spoke to the prophets and gave them many visions,
Through them, I taught my lessons to you.

God is: Good (Ps. 136:1)
Give thanks to the LORD because he is good.
His love continues forever.

God is: Truth (Ps. 33:4-5)
God’s word is true, and everything he does is right.
He loves what is right and fair; the LORD’S love fills the earth.

God is: my Friend (John 15:15)
I no longer call you servants, because a servant
does not know what his master is doing.
But I call you friends, because I have made known to you everything
I heard from my Father.

God is: Stable (Heb. 13:-8)
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

God is: my Healer (Ex. 15:26)
I am the LORD your God who heals you.

God is: Peace (Judges 6:24)
So Gideon built an altar there to worship the LORD
and named it The LORD Is Peace. It still stands at Ophrah,
where the Abiezrites live.

God is: Wisdom (Prov. 3:5-6)
Trust the LORD with all your heart,
and don’t depend on your own understanding.
Remember the LORD in all you do, and he will give you success.

God is: my Companion (Hosea 11:9)
I am God and not a human;
I am the Holy One, and I am among you.

God is: the Living God (Matt. 16:16)
Simon Peter answered,
“You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God”

God is: my Deliverer (Ps. 105:43-45)
So God brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones out with singing. He gave them lands of other nations, so they received what others had worked for. This was so they would keep his orders and obey his teachings.

PRAYING IN FAITH:
Father God, we praise You as our God. Thank You for all that You are to us. Thank You for everything You do for us. Lord, thank You that as we walk today, we can be confident in knowing You are with us.
Father God, I lift up this reader to you and pray that You will make Yourself known to them in a mighty way. Lord, I pray that in each of these ways they will see You say, "I AM." Lord I pray You will be with them and guide their steps. Lord, I ask You to help keep them focused on You, and that You will turn their eyes from anything that is not honoring of You. Lord, I pray will guard their hearts and mind in Christ.
In Christ Jesus Name,
Amen.

My friend, have a blessed day!
Kassie
